CNC Machining
Investment in this area has brought AMF to the forefront of technology and we can now offer 5 axis simultaneous machining as well as superb CAD/CAM facilities. Programming of the machine can now be carried out offline maximising utilisation of machine productivity. This strategy has proven to be very effective, enabling:
- Verification of NC tool-paths in a virtual environment
- Minimal human intervention in the setting of tool length and diameter offsets - all downloaded into the machine tools via tool presetting equipment
- Use of Wixroyds hydraulic clamping equipment, eliminates the need for clocking of work holding devices and establishing datums for repeat work
This area has a dedicated staff using the latest in CAD/CAM, which produce programmes from many formats: Paper drawings; CAD files; and Solid models. We are able to import most industry standard file formats and will get involved at the conception stages, thus ensuring that the design can be brought to reality in a cost effective way.
We have adopted the use of Renishaw's Ball Bar equipment to ensure that our CNC machines are working within set parameters to guarantee quality products. Monthly checks have eliminated the need for Service Engineers to be called out other than for the 6 monthly planned services required by our Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
